SURGe, Support to Ukraine’s Reforms for Governance

The Service within the project “Supporting Ukraine’s Government Reforms” (SURGe) implements the initiative “Preserving Access to School Education” funded by the Government of Canada. Within this project, there was developed, in particular, the “Alphabet for the Directors” – a collection of advice created to support school directors in building an internal system of education quality assurance, as well as practical recommendations for managers and teachers of schools on:

  • school strategy development;
  • system of education quality assurance development;
  • establishing the educational process in the conditions of distance learning;
  • non-discriminatory environment at school;
  • inclusive education;
  • organization of the educational process in the conditions of war;
  • psychological support for teachers
  • video lectures on psychological support for teachers

DECIDE

is a Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralization for Democratic Education Development” aimed at supporting education reforms and decentralization processes for the development of an effective education management system in Ukraine.

The main goal of the DECIDE project is to help residents of territorial communities to join democratic governance and gain equal access to quality education.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine was signed to draw attention to the protection of children’s rights, in particular to ensure the quality of education for all students

In cooperation with Czech colleagues, the following projects were implemented:

  • "Provision of an Information System for the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine";
  • "Development of the system of education quality assessment in the regions of Ukraine"
  • "Supporting the system of education quality assessment in Ukraine"

Since March 23, 2019, the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine has become a member of the Standing International Conference of Central and General Inspectors of Education (SICI).

The State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine and Plan International Ukraine have agreed to ensure
cooperation and partnership in the field of protecting the rights of participants of the educational process,
studying and meeting their needs, overcoming their educational, emotional learning and mental health and
psychosocial needs due to the war.
